Come To The Cross Entry for October 27, 2006

God be merciful to me a sinner! I believe Christ died on the Cross for me, that God rose him on the 3rd day, and that His Precious Blood will cleanse me from all my sins. By faith I now receive the Lord Jesus Christ into my heart as my Lord and my Savior; trusting Him for the salvation of my soul. Help me Lord to do thy will each day. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
I very simple prayer gets you saved if you believe what the above prayer has in it.
The main action of Salvation (meaning living forever in Heaven/New Earth and New Universe with Jesus and all others that accepted him as in the above prayer) is believing Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, that Mary was a virgin (does not matter why she was a virgin, many want her to be especially pure, but at 13-14 years old pureness isn't much of a credential for Mary). The Holy Spirt came on her and she became pregnant. Then Jesus died on the Cross at age 33 and had no sin. The reason Jesus came to Earth and became a human was to pay the price for your sins instead of you paying that price which is eternal death. On the 3rd day Jesus rose from the dead. Then after 40 day with 500 witnesses changed in to his spiritual body and rose to Heaven.
Summary:
1. Believe Jesus is Son of God
2. Believe Mary was a virgin
3. Believe when Jesus died on the Cross he was without sin
4. Accept his death (spilt BLOOD) on the Cross as payment for your personal sins past present and future sins
5. Believe Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day, tell others your belief in above.
Catch:
You can not randomly believe in Jesus, our flesh is completely against him. So, something must happen that sets you up so you can make a choice thaat up to then you could not choose because you were 100% bound in FLESH.
At some point in a persons life (every human) the Holy Spirit opens a door in your FLESH to see God's work.
There is no specific way or known reasons or prepreations to go through to make this happen via man's will. One could say there is 6 billion ways to the DOOR called Jesus Christ. The door is a process listed 1 -5 above.
You can not be born a Christian or a Christian because of your family. Every Tom Dick and harry could come to you pleading with loving hearts and good resouces and you would be without hope, Near death experiences can not do it either.
The only way is at the time it is known best by God the Holy Spirit will drawn you to Christ. All the above ways are very common means the Holy Spirit will draw you. It is the feet of Christians that bring the Gospel to you and the simple way as in above prayer. The gospel is 1 - 5 above in a nutshell.
You believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, then confess this to others.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (KJV)
The moment you do this Jesus comes into your heart and never leaves. He is there 24/7/365. No one can take you from Jesus. Jesus will never forsake you.
Something you notice will happen right away. Sometimes you will be overwelmed feeling the LOVE of Jesus inside you. Tears falling like rain. You feel like you are in a cloud of God's GLORY. You may or could also feel almost nothing also. FEELING something does not get you saved, believing does.
You will notice that you suddenly seem to have lost interest in some things and maybe strangely have this unknown reason to believe the Bible is FLAT OUT the word of GOD. Over a short time you will notice you can state that you seem to have a 180 degree turn in your life from the general direction you were going (you reconized you were headed for hell for instance as it were, because now you notice this where before you did not).
You can recognize Jesus is inside you to. God did write his LAWS on your heart. This is why you notice somethings are not as interesting as before. Care needs to be taken not to get hung up on people's sin lists. Many things people think is sin is not sin. Sin lists only bring confusion and conflict with the Laws written on your heart. Often Chirstian reject the God's LAWS on their heart for man made sin lists.
